Has your battery ever dies and you had to wait for another one?

Spare Batteries Spare You a Headache

Laptop computer batteries diminish over time. A good life span for a battery will be about two to three years for any brand. After that you will not get it back to full capacity. So when you buy a laptop it is a good idea to buy a spare battery. It is always good to have a backup if you are traveling and your main battery dies. Getting an extra one now also means that when the first battery has outlived its time you do not have to wait to order another.

You should also consider purchasing an extended life battery if the standard battery is not sufficient. This will add roughly another two hours to your battery life in most cases. The extended batteries do tend to weigh more though, so this will make the computer heavier as well.

Make sure not to store it in conditions of extreme heat or cold. These temperatures could damage the battery, shorten its lifespan or it could then damage the computer. TigerDirect.com has myriad discounted laptop batteries -- buying them at the same time as you buy the computer is best.
