Calculating DVD Burner Speed

To calculate the actual speed your DVD drive will burn at, it is necessary to multiply the drive speed by the rate at which the data is read and copied. For example a 4X drive will have an actual speed of 4 X 1352 Kilobytes per second or 5,408 Kilobytes per second. Using this formula it is possible to calculate the actual speed for a DVD burner.
