Need an easy solution for backing up your files?

Back Up Everything

Whether you have a desktop or laptop, or maybe even both, the one thing that should be a constant for everyone is backing up your hard drives. The easiest way to back up your internal hard drive is with an external one. You can get a 500GB external hard drive for $99.99 or a Terabyte for as low as $199.99 at TigerDirect.com.

If you have a lot of files on your computer, especially if you use it as a media machine or have high definition content, your hard drive can fill up before you know it. If something happens to that drive and you do not have a backup, it can cause you a lot of trouble. Burning all your files onto backup DVDs is not only time consuming, but depending on the content, could fill your house from top to bottom with discs. It is a good idea to have two additional copies of your most important files, so a DVD copy is a good idea for those. However, you should still back up your files on an external drive as well.

Pricing has dropped so low on these drives now that you have your choice of size, RPM, and whether you want a USB hard drive or one with a Firewire connection. It hardly takes any time at all now, so if your main drive crashes there is no excuse for not having a backup.
