Compliance with the Energy Star program means the monitor adheres to the standards set forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The Energy Star program logo was first introduced in 1992 as a guide for consumers to see computer companies that produced equipment that was environmentally friendly. Since its introduction, over 30 different products have been added to the Energy Star program.
